Congrats Fall 08 Grant Winners

The MISD Education Foundation awarded Brockett Elementary over $5,000 in grants on Wednesday, November 12. Our winners are:

January 2008 - Brockett Kindergartner Leads Pledge at Martin Luther King, Jr. Multicultural FestivalPeyton L.

Kindergartner Peyton L. was a representative of Janet Brockett Elementary at the Tarrant County College Southeast Campus for the MLK Multicultural Festival. Peyton led approximately 400 people in the pledge of allegiance to kick start the event on January 19, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom of the southeast campus.

A variety of entertainers participated in the sucessful event. Ms. Bradley, Peyton's teacher, also came out to see her perfom.

We want to thank Peyton for her contribution to the festival and congratulate her on a job well done.

Jennifer Jones, Above and Beyond WinnerCongratulations, Jennifer Jones!

Ms. Jones was awarded the Above and Beyond award at the 2007 MISD Employee Recognition Reception on Monday, May 14.

This award is a district award that honors individual educational support staff for their exceptional efforts in going above and beyond in their contributions and service to the students and staff of MISD.

2nd Annual Pride Run Winner's List

The 2nd Annual Pride Run for Janet Brockett Elementary was a huge success. With over 100 partcipants in the 5K alone and several more for the 1K, the event had a big turnout.

On March 31, 2007, JBE provided the community with an awesome opportunity of fun and fitness. The Brockett Pride Run consisted of a 5K run through the neighborhoods surrounding Janet Brockett Elementary in Arlington.

Congratulations to all winners in each category. Ribbons were awarded to each age division - 1st through 3rd place. Overall winners in the top three categories: 1st Male, 1st Female, and largest team are as follows:

5K Overall Winners:

1st Place Female Regina Stegman Time: 22:59
Largest Team Daulton Dashers (Anna May Daulton Elementary)  
 

Congratulations Spring 2007 Grant Recipients

Rhonda Pike, JBE librarian, was surprised on Wednesday, March 21 with an Education Foundation grant by the Mansfield ISD Grant Giveaway Team. Her winning grant was "Math in the Library: Bringing Math Alive Through Literature".
