October 2011 - Officer Cussnic and his police dog, Kelev, come to Smith Elementary for drug awareness and Red Ribbon Week.
May 2011 - On May 19, 2011, the 3rd Grade students hosted a ‘Reading Restaurant.’ Students dressed up and played the part of ‘waiters,’ taking ‘orders’ from the ‘menus’ of titles of their writings throughout this school year. For the ‘Dining Pleasure of parents, administrators and students from other grade levels,’ the 3rd grade students and teachers had a Mexican, Beach, Sports Grill, Nautical, Ball Park and a Rock-and Roll Themed Restaurant from which to select. |

Our spelling bee champion will next compete among all K-8 campus winners around the district at the District Spelling Bee on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Legacy High School. Good luck to Andrew! |
