Dear Star Families:

It is my hope for the new school year that continued success will occur for students, parents, families, and teachers.  The partnership we will create next year is necessary in order to bring about success for every child.  It is my goal to seek and implement activities and events which convey the needs of each stakeholder.  By surveying every member, listening to suggestions, and serving necessary needs expressed to me throughout the year, I strongly believe that academic success will and can occur for every child.  Please join me as the administration and staff strive to create an exemplary campus for your child(ren).

To better prepare for next year, information can be found on the district's website, in the local newspaper, and on the school's marquee.  The items below will be helpful to you:

1. Student registration: August 6th through August 11th.  Bring current proof of residence.

2. Classes posted: Wednesday, August 20 at 5:00 p.m. 

3. Thursday, August 21: Pre-K & Kinder grades only, "Meet the Teacher Night" and

    "New Parent"

    orientation for families new D. P. Morris. 

4. Friday, August 22: "Meet the Teacher" for First through Fourth grade only. 

                                                      5. Monday, August 25:  First Day of School! :-)

Should there be any questions that you might have regarding the beginning of next school year, please contact the school starting August 1, 2008 when office staff reports back to work.  I wish each and every Star family a safe and restful summer and always remember to spend time reading with your child, at least 20 minutes every day.
