Della
Icenhower grew up in the community of Dalby
Springs in Bowie County and graduated from Texarkana
High School. She received a bachelor's of science
in education from North Texas State University,
a master's of science from Texas A&M at
Commerce and a library certification from North
Texas State.
Mrs.
Icenhower taught most school levels in her 38
years of teaching. She taught at Pewitt ISD,
Omaha-Naples, Travis School, Falls Count, Sam
Houston Junior High School, Borger Fritch High
School and Childress Junior High before coming
to Mansfield ISD as a librarian.
Mrs. Icenhower served 30 years on the Mansfield
Public Library Board and was named to the Wall
of Honor for the City of Mansfield in 2001. As
a volunteer for several years after retirement,
she assisted in the transfer of elementary library
records from a card catalog to an automated system.
In addition, Mrs. Icenhower has served on various
committees for the MISD system. She has shown
a true love for the District and the children
that it serves. |
