Book Checkout Policy:

Kindergarten - One book per day

First through Fourth - Two books per day

Reading Programs/Incentives :
  • Do you give your child an allowance?  In addition to whatever other allowance you give your child, how about giving him/her an allowance for books.  Even if it only purchases one paperback book or magazine a week, you have helped encourage your child to read! 
  • We are doing the Bluebonnet Books this year.  For a list of the books click here.

  • New State Databases for our research - Yee Haw!

    Your child will bring home the passwords to these databases.  The state provides them for us.  We need to use them often to encourage the state to continue paying for them.  They are for adults, as well as students.  Check them out!  (medical advice, encyclopedias, magazines, etc.)

  • FREE! FREE! FREE! FREE! FREE! FREE!
  • That's right!  You can travel to Mexico, fly around the world, or swim to the bottom of the ocean.  It is all free with a library card from Grand Prairie, Mansfield, or the Arlington library.  All you need is a driver's license with your current address. 
  • If your child starts a book and doesn't want to finish it, that's OK.  Haven't you done that?
  • You kids may not want to read books.  Try to find pages on the Internet that pertains to their interests.  That is still reading.  :)
