A Brief History of Wester Middle School

This campus was formally Mansfield High School - South. In 2002, Mansfield High School moved to its new building on Broad Street, and Brooks Wester Middle School opened its doors here. As you can imagine, much renovation occurred during the 2002 summer before Wester could open its doors as a brand new middle school.

Wester is the third oldest middle school in Mansfield. Rogene Worley and T.A. Howard are the two middle schools that opened years before Wester, and Danny Jones opened its doors in 2004.

Scott Shafer is the principal who opened the school the first year it opened, and he continues to be Wester's wonderful principal.

Mr. Brooks Wester was an active supporter of the community. His portrait hangs in the front office of the school. Come by and see it!
