What if I want a teacher conference?
If your student is having trouble in a particular class, please feel free to contact the instructor here at Wester at (817)453-7200. Once you contact the teacher you can problem-solve over the phone or request a parent-teacher conference during the teacher's conference period.

What if I wish to meet with more than one teacher at a time?
A Parent-Team Conference allows the parent to meet with the entire core academic team of teachers at one time. We also invite the student's elective teachers to attend these meetings. [For example, the Lion Teaming Time is on B-Days at 2:00 p.m. and they meet in the Team Conference Room.] Please call the school and ask to speak with your child's Team Leader to arrange a Parent-Team Conference.

Does this website reference all homework for my student?
This website will only attempt to make you aware of major assignments or projects in the core classes: Language Arts, History, Math and Science. Our goal is to improve communication between our parents and the Team. The fact that a particular assignment or project is not referenced on this web page in no way releases your student from the responsibility for that assignment. We will make every effort to keep this web page as up to date as possible in order to help you stay connected with your student's education.

Our head principal for WMS is Mr. Scott Shafer. Our 7th grade level principal is Ms. Sue Gerlach, and our 8th grade level principal is Mr. Dave Hodgson. The 7th grade counselor is Ms. Candy Riegel, and the 8th grade counselor is Ms. Betty Robinson.

Where do I check for school closing information in case of inclement weather?
SCHOOL CLOSINGS INFORMATION
Overnight Closings:
If it becomes necessary to close school for any reason, notification will be on the following radio and TV stations:
TV- Channel 4 KDFW RADIO- WBAP 820/AM KPLX 99.5/FM
Channel 5 KXAS KRLD 1080/AM KKZN 93.3/FM
Channel 8 WFAA KLIF 570/AM KERA 90.1/FM
Channel 11 KXTX KTCK 1310/AM
In the event of a closing, radio stations will be called as soon as possible. Keeping in mind that buses begin their routes before 6:00 a.m., the decision to close school will be made prior to 5:00 a.m.
School Day Closings:
1. The MISD Public Information Office will notify the news media of the closing in advance, (see list of news media agencies above).
2. Parents can be assured that children will be safe at school if they
are unable to come to school immediately to pick up their children.
3. Parents who wish to pick up their children early on days of inclement weather will receive an excused absence.
