At the 2009 Texas Libary Association Annual Meeting, several Mansfield ISD IS and MS librarians learned about a "Read It Forward program done by the Round Rock ISD the previous school year and became quite enthused about doing it in Mansfield. 

We opted for the same book, Schooled by Gordan Korman, a book about a young boy, raised alone on a former commune by his grandmother.  Due to unforseen circustances he is suddenly thrown into a public school.  There is a tremendous amount of "culture shock" on both sides and many lessons are learned.   The question becomes who  really got "Schooled?"
