Red Wibbon Week Activity Includes Visit from DEA Agents
October 25, 2007 - Ponder Elementary students received a visit from the Drug Enforcement Agency as a part of the campus' Red Ribbon Week campaign. DEA agents from the agency spoke to the students regarding living a drug-free life.

Ponder Elementary Celebrates 40 Years
On Saturday, September 15, 2007, the Ponder PTA celebrated Ponder Elementary turning 40 with a carnival.  The carnival consisted of a ribbon cutting ceremony and lots of fun games.

Superintendent Vernon Newsom (pictured top left) participates in the cake walk, a game held at the 40th anniversary celebration. Mrs. Coatney's 1st grade class (pictured top right) stands in front of the birthday cards and posters they designed in commemoration of Ponder's 40th Anniversary.

Alice Ponder Elementary second grade students from (left to right) Jacqueline L., Daniel W. and Angel F. studied different species of penguins and their habitats.

At the end of their study, each student drew a life-sized model of a penguin and wrote a factual poem about the species.

Every third grade class in the district participates in a half-day water safety field trip held at the MISD Natatorium.

The Mansfield ISD Grant Giveaway Team visited Alice Ponder Elementary on Wednesday, March 28 to surprise staff members with Education Foundation Grants for the Spring 2007 school term. The lucky recipients are:
