April 2011 -
Teachers and students participated in 80's dress-up day on April 19. The bright colors and funky patterns were "totally radical," and the event was tons of fun for everyone!
The MISD Education Foundation recently announced two district-wide elementary grant programs:
$4,299.00 to fund "Boom, Pow, Poof: Future Engineers Creating Chain Reactions," submitted by
Andrea Bond, Charlotte Coker, Yvette Jones and Amy Senato
$2,799.64 to fund "Ooey, Gooey Squishy Fun," submitted by Amy Senato

Students and faculty of Anna May Daulton Elementary put their creativity to the test while celebrating Literacy Week this year (January 24 - 28).The week was filled with fun activities including a potato contest that challenged students to create their favorite book character using potatoes! Students and faculty also used their imaginations to create costumes that represented their favorite book characters.
Congratulations to the winner of the 2011 Daulton Spelling Bee, Thaovy Nguyen, and runner-up Jonas Kilpatrick. Great job! Our spelling bee champion will next compete among all K-8 campus winners around the district at the District Spelling Bee on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Legacy High School. Good luck to Thaovy Nguyen!

October 2010 -
This Fall, the MISD Education Foundation awarded 24 mini grants to individual classroom teachers for projects up to $250. The mini grant funds will directly benefit students in the Mansfield Independent School District and will make a positive difference for them.
Kindergarten Teacher Emilie Chiozza received $189.90 to fund her grant project, “Hands-On Science Exploration.”
3rd Grade Teachers Mary Grace Evans and Cristie Blackburn received $79.95 to fund their grant project, “Sparkling Writing Center.”

October 2010 - Former Super Bowl Champion Charlie Williams came in for a visit during our Community Helpers Day. Mr. Williams played cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys.
