Back-to-School Bash 2017
Mansfield ISD will host its second annual back-to-school bash on Saturday, August 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts (1110 W Debbie Lane, Mansfield, Texas 76063).
The event, meant to bring the community together for a day of family fun, will officially kick-off the start of the 2017-18 school year.
In addition to a wide variety of activities and games, there will be school supplies, student health services and more—provided completely free of charge to Mansfield ISD students. Food trucks will also be available on site. Download the event flyer.
|New: Due to construction near the area, MISD will be offering free shuttle service to and from the Back-to-School Bash on Aug. 12. The shuttle service will be offered at the tennis courts of Legacy High School and Summit High School from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.|
STUFF THE BUS CAMPAIGN
The Stuff the Bus Campaign is the community fundraiser to raise the funds for the school supplies that will be distributed at the bash.
Through various sponsorships, donations and districtwide community nights, the district is able to provide the backpacks filled with school supplies.
Backpacks will be given to Mansfield ISD families on a first come, first serve basis at the Ben Barber Innovation Academy (across the parking lot from the MISD Center for the Performing Arts). No registration is required, but families will have to fill out a card to verify their information before receiving a backpack. There will be a limit of four backpacks per family.
If you are interested in helping us reach our goal of giving away 6,000 backpacks, please consider making an online donation or becoming an event sponsor.
At the bash, free services will be provided to students. Services include: sports physicals, immunizations, eye exams and glasses, haircuts, dental sealants and other health resources. Please bring your child's shot records to take part in the free immunizations. (Shots are for uninsured patients only.)
Community groups and businesses that wish to provide relevant services, products and information to attendees will have the opportunity to occupy a booth at the bash. We have reached capacity and are no longer accepting vendor booth requests. If you have questions about an existing booth request, please contact Lynn Wilkie at 817-299-6369.
Each campus will be in attendance with fun activities like bounce houses, obstacle courses and more to interact with our MISD families. In addition, dozens of student performances will be held in the Performing Arts Center. This will be an opportunity for parents/guardians and students to meet with the campuses they will be attending and see some of the many fine arts programs MISD has to offer.
For more information about the event, contact the MISD Communications Department at 817-299-6345 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
