Special Runoff Election Called for June 10, 2017

A special runoff election was scheduled for Saturday, June 10, 2017 after no candidate took the majority of the votes in the Mansfield ISD school board special election on May 6. A majority happens when a candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes.

The June 10 runoff election for the Place 6 seat was between the top two finishers: Darrell Sneed and Jessica Camacho. Sneed won the majority by receiving 70 percent of the votes.

Canvassing of the votes will take place on June 20 at 6 p.m. at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts.

Election Day

Election day is June 10, 2017. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Election Day Results:

  • Tarrant County Results - Precinct-by-Precinct reports will be listed after all polling places have reported to the counting stations.

  • Johnson County Results - Unofficial election results will be available as a courtesy on the City of Mansfield website.

Early Voting

The Early Voting schedule for the June 10 special runoff election is May 30 - June 6, 2017.

Mail In Ballot Information

Applications for a Ballot by Mail must be received no later than the close of business on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

General Election Results - May 6, 2017

Two Mansfield ISD school board seats will be up for election in May. The seats to be filled are Place 6 and Place 7, currently occupied by Daniel Gallagher and Courtney Lackey Wilson, respectively.

Interested parties had until Feb. 17 to turn in a candidate packet. Election Day is set for Saturday, May 6. View the calendar of events leading up to the election.

Election Day Results

Election results are unofficial until canvassed at the May 16, 2017 called board meeting.

Bond Proposition

Mansfield ISD voters voted in favor of the bond proposition with an overall 65.12%. The $275 million bond proposal addresses growth, student safety and security, student equity, infrastructure improvements, and the overall student experience in MISD.

Trustee Place 6

A special runoff election is scheduled for Saturday, June 10, 2017 after no candidate took the majority of the votes in the Mansfield ISD school board special election on May 6. A majority happens when a candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes.

The June 10 runoff election for the Place 6 seat will be between the top two finishers: Darrell Sneed (37.94% of votes) and Jessica Camacho (14.74% of votes).

Trustee Place 7

Courtney Lackey Wilson kept her seat in Place 7 receiving 74.24% of the vote.

Early Voting

The Early Voting schedule for the May 6, 2017 Joint General and Special Elections has been finalized. Early voting will run Monday, April 24 through Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

Board Approves Order of Cancellation for May 7 Election

At the March 23, 2016 regular board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved an Order of Cancellation electing the unopposed candidates to office and canceling the May 7, 2016 election.

The following candidates were re-elected to office and will be officially sworn in at the May 24, 2016 regular board meeting:

  • Trustee, Place 3 - Michael Evans
  • Trustee, Place 4 - Raul Gonzalez
  • Trustee, Place 5  - Karen Marcucci
