Mansfield ISD recently added two more dedicated employees to the Heartbeat Team.
Dr. Teresa Stegall, director of assessment and accountability, and Annette Debinski, instructional aide at Willie Brown Elementary School, were surprised with MISD’s Heartbeat Award on May 25.
The Heartbeat Award recognizes employees who display heart in their lives and inspire other district employees through their actions. Finalists are nominated by their peers.
Dr. Stegall was nominated for her love of data, people and continuous improvement.
“She doesn't just get lost in the numbers or the data,” said Peter Ponce, district testing coordinator. “Her goal on a day-to-day basis is to connect with the campuses. She ultimately cares about serving the students, and that's one of the reasons people appreciate working with her."
For Debinski, it was her positive attitude and willingness to help others that caused many of her coworkers to send in nominations.
“Mrs. Debinksi is the heartbeat of Willie Brown for many reasons,” Principal Kyna Eastlick explained. “She is so willing to do whatever, whenever, however to meet the need of our kids.”
Dr. Stegall and Debinski received a plaque, gift basket and recognition ceremony for their great efforts.
The Heartbeat Award was established in January 2003. A total of four employees received the award for the 2016-17 school year.
