Alice Ponder and J.L. Boren Elementary schools will be dedicated at their new buildings on February 1. Ponder will be dedicated at 2 p.m. followed by Boren Elementary's dedication at 3:45 p.m.

MISD SAT/ACT Summer Institute & Junior/Senior Workshop – Get prepared for your college entrance exams with two weeks of exam preparation through the MISD Summer Institute. In addition, Juniors and Seniors can also choose a one-day workshop to give them practice with all parts of the exam. To get registered and find out complete details, visit this page.

Middle School iPad Deployment - Mansfield ISD will offer iPads as a part of middle schoolers instructional program beginning in January 2015. This program is a partnership between schools and parents to provide students with an innovative and engaging learning environment. J.L. Boren Elementary and Alice Ponder Elementary move into their new facilities - The two schools were demolished and completely rebuilt under the 2011 approved bond election. Students will return from the winter break to the new campuses on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.

To provide equity across the district, MISD's five oldest elementary campuses are being completely rebuilt. For complete details, visit the New Schools Construction/Transition Schedule page.

Toys for Tots Community Event brings in 26,000 toys!

Education Foundation Awards Grants to Staff - The Mansfield ISD Education Foundation completed its 32nd round of grants on Thursday, December 4 by surprising unsuspecting teachers and staff. Fifty-six grants (including mini grants awarded in October) were funded this semester totaling over $98K. See the list of winners and the photo gallery.

Early Release Days Schedule - The MISD Department of Curriculum and Instruction announced the school start and end times for each level on the four early release dates in 2014-15. Early dismissals for students will allow campuses to hold teacher professional development on the following days:

  • Friday, November 14, 2014
  • Friday, January 16, 2015
  • Friday, February 27, 2015
  • Thursday, April 2, 2015

Mansfield ISD named 2014 Energy Partner of the Year - On April 29, Mansfield ISD was honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) at the 2014 ENERGY STAR Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. for our outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency.

Library Learning Commons Extended Hours - The Mansfield ISD Library Learning Commons at Legacy HS, Lake Ridge HS and Timberview HS now have extended hours on the following days when school is in session.  Students must present a current MISD ID card to enter the library.  For more information, please contact the school librarian.:
