October 21, 2009 - Vernon Newsom Stadium Naming Ceremony, Mansfield ISD will hold the stadium naming ceremony to honor Mr. Vernon Newsom, the district's former superintendent, on November 6, 2009 at the district's athletics complex.

October 15, 2009 - Legacy's Teen Leadership teacher named to Heartbeat Team, Dena Schimming, the Teen Leadership teacher at Mansfield Legacy High School, received the October 2009 MISD Heartbeat Team Award.
