Tuesday, May 6 A DAY

Upcoming 10th- 12th Students: There will be a PSAT/SAT/ACT Institute this summer at Ben Barber. If you are interested in more information you can stop by the counseling center for a form or talk to one of your teachers.

The Estelle McBride Scholarship Application is now available in the counseling office. It is sponsored by the American Business Women's Association. Deadline for the submittal is July 1st. Three reference letters, transcript and a brief letter are required.

Attention Seniors: localcareerfairs.com will sponsor its annual College and Career fair. Some of the largest colleges and universities within the Dallas/ Fort Worth area will be on hand recruiting and offering information about their campuses. This event will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center on Monday, May 19th from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM.  If you are a senior and interested in attending this event, please see Mrs. Doctor in the Counseling Center.

2nd block classes WIN A DOUGHNUT PARTY!!!!! Project Epiphany is trying to CHANGE the lives of those less fortunate... See the CHANGE ADDS UP posters around MHS or see Epiphany club members (including Mr. Barrett, U-13) for details.

School for Allied Health Professionals Scholarship is available in the counseling office for all students interested in pursuing a career in an allied health field. An essay must be completed explaining your interest in the Health Care profession.

American Council of the Blind of Texas, Inc. application is now available in the counseling office. Requirements include being legally blind, 3.0 GPA and acceptance for admission at a college.

10th  graders:The Texas Governor's School was established by the Texas Legislature to provide a rich and challenging academic experience for advanced high school students. Provided this year at Lamar University, the program focuses on leadership in the Humanities, Language Arts, Mathematics, Fine Arts, and Science.  Students also have opportunities to address problems and issues in advanced content with problem-based strategies.

SENIORS: If you have been awarded a scholarship of any kind for college, please come by the counseling center to let us know. Even if it is for a college you have not decided to attend, we still need to know. Keep working, you are almost there!!!!

Athletic Council Members, there will be a banquet in your honor on May 15 at the MISD Stadium at 6:30pm.  All MISD schools will be in attendance as well as a guest speaker.  If you are able to attend please see Coach Patton by this Thursday to reserve a seat.

RPG is canceled for this week but all RPG members should plan to come to next week's end of the year festivities on Wednesday May 14th

Congratulations to Jeremy Burkett, Ryan Coffman, and Tate McIntyre for being selected to the All Region Soccer Team.

Next week will be the last week to buy after-prom tickets.  They are $25.00 each.....I will be at the cafeteria area on Thursday and Friday at lunch.

SENIORS - Friday, May 16, will be the LAST day to purchase tickets to Gold Rush.  The tickets are now $25.  Also, this is the same day that ALL raffle tickets and money must be turned in.  Even if you did not sell any of the raffle tickets you checked out, please return them.

We're two weeks away from Prom and Gold Rush and we want to give everyone an opportunity to purchase a Gold Rush ticket.  It will be a lot of fun, lots of good prizes and most of all you get to be with your friends one last time.

Congratulations to Shade Weygandt on winning her 3rd consecutive State Championship in pole vault at the UIL meet in Austin this past Saturday.  Shade is the current state and National record holder for juniors in this event.  Good luck to Shade as she prepares for a summer of international and national competitions.

"It's warming up outside, but it is hot hot hot inside the Mansfield Theatre!  Don't miss the final performance of the Pipin' Hot Bowl of Comedy Tuesday at 7:00pm.  Tickets are $3 and the show is gauranteed to make you laugh!"

"Tonight (Monday) the Children's Theatre class will present The Jungle Book LIVE onstage for one performance only.  The show starts at 6:30pm and tickets are $3 at the door.  Come and watch your favorite drama friends dance and sing to the Bare Neccessities and do a little "monkey-ing" around."

The MHS Color Guard will be holding their auditions this Thursday at 4:00 in the band hall. The clinic to prepare everyone who is auditioning is today and tomorrow from 4:30-6:00 in the band hall. Come be a part of one of the most exciting and successful groups on campus as you fullfill your PE and Fine Arts requirements!
