Dear Parents/Guardians,

As the Spring semester begins, I am excited about having your son/daughter in my class. I am looking forward to a wonderful semester! I want to keep you informed regarding the English curriculum at Mansfield High School , so I am including a tentative list of novels we will be covering over the semester. Depending on how we progress, modifications might be made at my discretion. I will be sure to communicate changes through a letter sent home with your student. The first novel we will begin reading is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. You can purchase this book at Walden Books in the Parks Mall or at Barnes and Noble on Cooper Street . You can also order online from Amazon.com or possibly purchase a used copy from Half Price Books or Half.com and Alibris.com. If there is any reason why this novel and others cannot be purchased, please contact me or have your student stay after class so that we can discuss this confidentially. We will make every effort to find a copy for your student. I will inform your student at least a week before each novel is needed in class. This information and dates will be listed on my website also. Thank you.

Tentative Novel List:

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (In class by Thursday January 12)

Night by Elie Wiesel

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
