After graduating from Western Oregon University, I moved to Texas and began teaching in Fort Worth ISD. I earned my masters in counseling from TCU in 2004, and have been a counselor ever since. This is my eighth year in education, and my fourth as a counselor. My husband, Kendall, is also in education, and is a teacher and coach in Arlington ISD.  This is my first year in Mansfield, and I couldn’t be more proud to be at Legacy High School.

9-11 (R-Z)

I was born in Oklahoma City, but I have spent most of my life in Texas.  I graduated from Andrews High School (30 minutes north of Odessa) in 1986.  I graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 1990 and completed my student teaching at Texas Tech University in 1991.  I taught English for three years at Estacado High School in Lubbock and for four years at Levelland Junior High (25 minutes west of Lubbock).  I completed my Master of Education in Counseling at Texas Tech in 1998 and am also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  I have been a school counselor at Bay City High School (southwest of Houston), DeSoto High School, Mansfield High School, Summit High School, and now Legacy High School.  I have worked in Mansfield ISD since August 2001.  I married my wife, Kelley, in 1988.  I have two daughters, one in sixth grade and one in third grade, who both attend school in our district.

I am the freshmen through junior counselor for students with the last name I-Q.  I am new to the DFW area from Vernon, TX.  My undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Texas Tech University.  “Wreck’em Tech!”  Before coming to work as a counselor at Legacy High School, I was a second grade teacher with Vernon ISD.   I enjoy shopping, decorating, reading, and spending time with friends and family.  I am excited about being part of Legacy High School.

I was raised in Haskell, Texas, where I graduated in 1982 from Haskell High School. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Mathematics at Angelo State University in 1985. I have worked primarily with students in the Middle School years, but my real passion is working with students that struggle to have a balance with grades, attendance, and behavior. After being in the classroom for 20 years, I completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling and LPC Certification at Dallas Baptist University.

My husband, Ronnie, and I married in 1989 in Abilene, Texas where we were both in education. Ronnie teaches Communication Applications at Cleburne High School, where he also has part time Administrative duties, and is very involved in athletic activities for CHS. Our daughter, Hannah, is in the 3rd grade at Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary. We have just recently relocated from Cleburne to Mansfield and are members of the First United Church of Mansfield. We are all so happy to be members of this great community and school district.
