Job Title: Field Trip Coordinator Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Reports To: Transportation Director Pay Grade: 226 Days (minimum daily rate of pay is $103.68 for 8 hours)

Primary Purpose:
  Run field trip computer selection program and communicate field trip notification to drivers. Coordinate all aspects of field trip operations and allocation of District owned passenger (suburban) vehicles. Coordinate the assignment of buses for each field trip.

Qualifications:
  Education/Certification:
  High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Commercial driver's license (class B with passenger & School Bus endorsements) required within 3 months of hire
Current Texas School Bus Certification
  Special Knowledge/Skills:
  Proficient skills in keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Basic math skills
Handle phone calls and complaints professionally
Ability to use personal computer and software
Ability to pass alcohol and drug test
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  Experience:
  Two years secretarial, accounting or school bus driving experience.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  Records:
  1. Maintain logbook of all suburban vehicle reservations.
2. Maintain a copy of all bus and suburban field trip requisitions, paperwork.
3. Maintain record of driver availability.
  Accounting:
  4. Calculate fieldtrip expenses and determine payment for drivers and extracurricular drivers.
  Data Entry:
  5. Input new employee information into computer.
6. Input field trip requests into computer and process the data to ensure that all requests are honored.
  Phones:
  7. Answer incoming calls, take messages, and route them to appropriate staff while assisting in dispatch.
8. Handle questions and complaints that fall within level of responsibility.
  Other:
  9. Operate two-way radio equipment.
10. Attend and complete required training program to maintain safety certification.
11. Maintain effective rapport with general public and handle any problems or concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  None.

  Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Continual sitting, work outside and inside. Moderate exposure to extreme temperature (hot) and vehicle fumes.
