| Primary Purpose: | |||
| Manages, organize and supervises the emergency communications unit of the MISD Police department by scheduling work hours, controlling budget expenditures, investigation internal and external complaints, communicating in writing with other supervisors, counsel employees and implementing corrective action. Performs related duties as needed or assigned. | |||

| Two to five years in security systems development and management Two to five years in radio communications and management of personnel. |

| Major Responsibilities and Duties: | |||
| 1. Responsibility for day-to-day supervision of communications
operation. 2. Coordinate and supervise alarm operations and maintenance within Mansfield ISD. 3. Work with existing building, new construction and recommend designs for electronic security systems. 4. Coordinate the installation and maintenance of electronic security systems (existing facilities and new construction). 5. Responsible for the police department’s evidence and property room. The inventory, maintenance and final disposition of property and evidence that comes into custody of the police department. 6. Responsible for the surveillance camera system that is used for monitoring of potential illegal activity on a temporary basis. 7. When security breaches occur assist the physical, technical staff and police department in investigating and understanding the source of the breach and in assessing and containing damage. Assist in the development measures that will protect against such breaches or events occurring again. 8. Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with district/local/state/federal regulations concerning security. 9. Keep abreast of security related technology practices and regulations. 10. Coordinate the development of the Crisis Management Plans, along with one of our sworn officers. 11. Other assigned duties. |

| 12. Work cooperatively with police agencies to share information
and provide other assistance. 13. Assist (coordinate) the development
of the Crisis Management Plans for campuses. |

| 14. Ensure that routine checks and maintenance of equipment
and proper licensing for communications operation are performed on all communications
equipment including alarm systems and other related equipment. 15. Operate
all equipment according to established safety procedures. |

| 16. Assist in developing a security footprint
(blueprint) for the existing facilities and new construction including hardware
and software components. 17. Inform the Chief of Police of all conditions
that affect safety and security of students, staff, and district property 19. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records and other documents
required by law or school district policy. |
