| Implement the District's dynamic Communications Plan, with an emphasis on web-based, online communication. Assist with preparation of written materials and district publications. Manage daily operation of MISD Cable Station. | |||

| Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/Communication | |||
| Special Knowledge/Skills: | |||
| Knowledge of Web-based design, as well as web communication
tools. Ability to use computer and software to create Web pages and desktop publishing products. Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated skills in writing, proofreading, and editing. Ability to meet established deadlines. |

| Two years as a communication specialist, or in the editorial/journalism
field. One year of web development experience preferred. |

| Major Responsibilities and Duties: | |||
| 1. Design, implement Web-based communication tools. | |||
| 2. Write, edit copy for online sources, as well as district publications. | |||
| 3. Assess district, community online needs and research possible solutions. | |||
| 4. Assist with production, publication, and distribution of district publications and news releases. | |||
| 5. Maintain digital photo file for district/department, as well as district video file. |

| 6. Photograph special events and personnel for web, district publications, presentations, and displays. | |||
| 7. Video meetings and programs throughout the district. | |||
| 8. Manage daily operation of District Cable Station. | |||
| 9. Facilitate Internet broadcast of meetings and other events. | |||

| 10. Assist with special events, including yearly employee retirement/recognition reception. | |||
| 11. Compile information and prepare reports as needed. | |||
| 12. Respond to routine phone, web and walk-in inquiries from the public and MISD staff; refer appropriate inquiries to Director of Communications. | |||
| 13. Assist Director of Communications with other duties, as assigned. | |||
