Facilities & Operations :: Repairs
[Submitting Requests for Repairs]
Each site has a designated person that handles communications with Facilities
Maintenance. This person is responsible for entering a work order on the site based work order tracking system. The designated person should review previously submitted work orders to ensure that the request is not a duplicate. Duplicate work orders tend to slow the work order process down. The designated person should also contact the maintenance department when the work request is an emergency needing immediate attention.
[Maintenance and Repairs]
All service request are handled at the time they are received. Each is assigned a priority (emergency, urgent, or routine) based on the effect of life safety and continuance of academic study. Emergency and urgent request are dispatched to maintenance personnel immediately. The target for completing routine service requests is 3 work days.
It should be noted that backlogs are common and inevitable. There may be several weeks delay in some instances.
Depending on the nature of the work or repair, permits, scheduling, material allocation, drawings, and surveys may add additional time to start and completion of the work.
The maintenance staff will do their very best to keep you informed of any unusual delays.
