The TMEA selection process
Student musicians from different regions perform selected works of music for a panel of judges who rank each instrument or voice part. A select group of musicians then advance from their region to compete against musicians from areas across the state. Only the highest-ranking musicians judged at TMEA area contests qualify to perform in TMEA All-State band or choral group during the group's February convention.
These All-State students participate in three days of rehearsals directed by nationally recognized conductors during the TMEA Clinic and Convention and close the event with a concert.
The Texas Music Educators Association is an association of over 10,000 school music educators dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. |
