Due to the outstanding performance of our teachers and students, Mansfield ISD is a Recognized District in 2010 according to the accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) on July 30.
The District is proud to report that 89 percent, 33 of the 38 campuses that receive the ratings, are designated as either Exemplary or Recognized. In 2009, 74 percent of the district's campuses were Exemplary or Recognized.
Recognized District
Districts can achieve a Recognized status if there are no Academically Unacceptable campuses and if TAKS performance and completion standards are met. It is important to note that the overall District's Recognized level of achievement was earned without the calculation of the Texas Projection Measure, or (TPM).
“We congratulate the teachers and students on their efforts for this distinction,” said Dr. Bob Morrison, Superintendent of Schools.
“We are committed to quality instruction and these ratings are a reflection of the overall hard work, dedication, and focus in the Mansfield ISD community.”

Appeals
Mansfield ISD will appeal the Academically Acceptable rating that Summit High School received because of completion coding. Approximately six students, who enrolled in 2007-08, were coded as drop-outs when they withdrew from Summit. They have since been found to have enrolled in other Texas schools. If TEA accepts the appeal, Summit High School will be elevated to a Recognized high school at a later point in the year. |
