Mansfield ISD counselors are offering orientation sessions and information programs for 6th grade and 8th grade parents and students addressing topics on entering middle school and high school respectively.
8th Grade Parents & Students planning for High School
During the week of February 1-4, 2010, high school counselors will conduct orientation sessions at the District's six middle schools. The purpose of these sessions is to familiarize students with the Class of 2014 graduation requirements, attendance regulations, and special program requirements. Counselors also help with preliminary course decisions for their 9th grade year.
The high school counselors will explain information for parents and students at the Parent Information Programs on Thursday, February 4 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm on each campus:
Legacy High School - Main Gymnasium
Mansfield High School - Cafeteria/Commons Area
Summit High School - Cafeteria/Commons Area
Timberview High School - Cafeteria/Commons Area
Please note: Ben Barber Career Tech Academy will hold a program entitled, 8th grade Welcome to High School for students and parents from 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm. This will be an opportunity to explore the programs and courses available to all MISD high school students at Ben Barber.

A similar series of sessions will take place for sixth graders. During the week of February 8-12, 2010, middle school counselors will conduct orientation sessions at the District's six intermediate schools. The purpose of these sessions is to familiarize students with middle school requirements, attendance regulations, and special program requirements. Counselors will also assist students with preliminary course decisions for these incoming 7th grade students.
The middle school counselors and administrators will explain information for parents during Parent Information Programs on each campus:
