Veronica Sanchez, a Pre-Kindergarten aid at Willie Brown Elementary, was honored with the latest Mansfield ISD Heartbeat Team Award during a surprise visit to her school. Veronica was selected for this District staff recognition award for being a valued resource and eager to help at a moment's notice.
District Superintendent Dr. Bob Morrison, along with Brown Elementary principal Marilyn Varner, surprised Veronica with a brief class disruption this afternoon.
Veronica Sanchez was a Pre-K aid last year but transitioned to a Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) Paraprofessional this school year. PPCD at Brown Elementary is a Special Education speech program for Pre-K students.
According to the principal, Sanchez does a remarkable job with adding extra time to her schedule to help her teacher and students by going above and beyond her duties.
“She always sees the good in everything and truly doesn't ever show a negative side,” said Marilyn Varner. “She one in a million.”
 Heartbeat Team nominations shared similar thoughts for Veronica Sanchez:
“Veronica Sanchez goes above and beyond to intentionally take these students under her wing and win the over with her magical combination of firmness, respect, and love,” wrote Julie Whitis.
“She has eased communication and the understanding of our parents with a limited English background,” wrote Scott Schmitt. “She has also helped to make phone calls and translate letters from English to Spanish.”
The Mansfield ISD administration is proud to present a Heartbeat Team Award to Veronica Sanchez for her sincere interest and caring contact with students at Willie Brown Elementary.
