Mansfield ISD students competed in a variety of subject areas in the recent UIL District Academic meets and several students qualified for regional meets.
Congratulations to the following Legacy HS, Mansfield HS, Summit HS, and Timberview HS students:
Legacy High School
2nd in the Sweepstakes award for the UIL district 8-4A Spring meet.
Justin Safar, Jerica Albus won 1st & 4th place in the Computer Applications. Computer Science received 2nd place team overall. Michael Kodjer, Robert Singarella won 2nd & 6th place.
The Journalism Team claimed 1st place team overall award.
Greg Uribe, Aaron Sakowski, & Russell Kirby won 2nd, 4th & 6th place in Editorial Writing.
Michelle Heath, Megan Henry won 1st & 5th place in Feature Writing.
Will Ritchie, Aaron Sakowski won 1st & 2nd in Headline Writing.
Russell Kirby, Will Ritchie placed 3rd & 5th in News Writing.
Kaycee Stubblefield placed 3rd in Literary Criticism.
The Math Team won 2nd place in the math team overall award.
Alex Bertucci, Chase Tremaine, won 2nd & 4th place.
Number Sense placed 6th & won 2nd place in team overall
Alejandra Nieto placed 3rd in Persuasive Speaking.
Jesse Wright placed 6th in Ready Writing.
The Science Team won 1st place in team overall.
Alex Bertucci, James McMasters, & Ian Cook, won 3rd, 4th, & 5th place.
Drew Demartini placed 5th in Spelling.
One Act Play advanced to area.

The Speech & Debate Team received the top Speech & Debate team award.
Chloe Voreis, Skyller Armenta, & Chandler Hostin won 1st, 2nd, & 5th in Prose Interpretation.
Brittney Gossett & Kylie Arnold won 2nd & 3rd in Poetry Interpretation.
Brian Sanders placed 1st in Persuasive Extemporaneous Speech.
Brian Sanders & Taylor Cunningham placed 3rd in Cross-Examination Debate.
Kyle Jurik place 2nd individually in Computer Science and, along with Taylor Cannon & Chris Brubaker, claimed the 2nd place team award.
Meeshia Young & Kelsey Petit placed 4th & 5th in Literary Criticism.
Nusrat Hossain & Justin Kirkland place 4th & 6th in Calculator Applications.
Clancy Taylor was awared 4th in Ready Writing.
Brian Sanders claimed 4th in Current Events.

In Calculator Applications, Phuc Nguyen & Lihn Nguyen placed 1st & 2nd place respectively, and along with Dianna Nugyen & Nick Frederking claimed the 1st place team award.
Tierra Brown & Natasha Taylor were awarded 3rd & 5th place in Ready Writing.
Ayana Straker, Peyton Casper, & Tayo Elelu placed 4th, 5th, & 6th in Current Events, and along with Carra Rentie they claimed the 2nd place team award.
Britney Jordan placed 6th in Accounting.
Son Bui placed 3rd in Spelling & Vocabulary.
Jennifer Miller claimed 5th place in Informative Speaking.
