The MISD parents and children are invited to attend the Mansfield Area Parental Support System [MAPSS] 2006-2007 meetings, which will be held the following dates from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.:
- Thursday, September 28, 2006 - Tall Tales, Fairy Tales, Finger Plays
- Thursday, October 26, 2006 - ABC's of Learning
- Thursday, February 1, 2007 - Dinosaurs
- Thursday, March 22, 2007 - Our World in Action
MAPSS was created in 1999 to develop a parent education program designed to foster and enhance early reading development in children. MAPSS meets four times throughout the school year.
The theme for the meeting is Family. Events include a Big-Ticket Drawing, free books and activities, snacks and multiple presentations in English or Spanish.
MAPSS is for parents of children ages 0 through the fourth grade who live in the Mansfield Independent School District. A Spanish translator will be available. All the meetings will be held at the Ben Barber Career Technology Center located at 1120 West Debbie Ln., Mansfield, TX 76063
