Mansfield ISD is proud to announce the launch of eSembler, an online grading program. The eSembler program is now available to third through twelfth grade parents. The program is user-friendly and available to parents after a quick sign-in process. All a parent needs to access the program is an e-mail account and Internet access. Parents without e-mail addresses may obtain one from a variety of free services and free Internet access is available at area public libraries.
The eSembler software offers several benefits to parents. Not only may a parent look at all of their child's grades, but they can also monitor their child's absences. Parent and MISD teacher Susan Mackey loves the new program. “It was very easy to set up the account," said Mackey. "I was able to do the set-up and look at the grades in less than five minutes."
The program is beneficial for MISD teachers, also. Following six months of districtwide training and a pilot program, teachers are now able to post their assignments ahead of time. Teachers also like the obvious benefits of not having to keep up with a paper gradebook. If a teacher wants a quick progress report, it is just a click away. District trainers report that the program was very well received, even by some of the teachers who were initially reluctant to give up their paper gradebooks. |
