Book Lists & Awards
Every year thousands of books are published. It can be overwhelming to think about selecting just one to read. Take heart! Every year across Texas and the nation librarians face this task. In Texas committees of librarians nominate 20 titles for 4 different lists. Then students across the state vote and select their favorite to be named "The Winner".
The Bluebonnet Winner for 2007-2008 is......
Down Girl and Sit on the Road by Lucy Nolan

MISD Library Lesson Plan page

To help MISD librarians with the never-enough time dilemma, we now have a webpage of lesson plan ideas. Please take some time to look through these lesson plans, or submit one yourself. Elementary librarians may submit on the elementary library wiki, or you may email Jennifer Rike with the lesson plan for posting to the website. Please be sure to include a short description, grade level, subject/s and title of the lesson plan, along with any supporting files.
