Do you have 100's, 1,000's... tens of thousands of emails in your Sent Items folder???
No wonder it takes so long for GroupWise to open!!!
This week's ITSie BIT: Deleting Items in your Sent Folder
Sent items (emails) doesn't automatically delete...
If you've never deleted items from your Sent Items folder, I bet you have thousands upon thousands of emails you can delete!
Why delete them?-Because it makes GroupWise run faster!
How to Delete Items from your Sent Items folder:
- Select (highlight) Sent Items that's listed in the left navigation pane (picture below).
If you don't see this pane, go to View > Folder List.
2. Make sure you have a little arrow beside the word Date in the Date column heading.

(That arrow means it's being sorted by date.)
If you don't see the arrow, click on the Date column heading. You can click it again to reverse the date order.
3. Select (click) the first email you want to delete. HOLD DOWN the Shift key that's on your keyboard and while it's held down, select (click) the last email you want to delete.
Release the shift key. NOTE: IF you have hundreds or thousands of emails to delete, only select about 100. To delete the rest you'll have to repeat these steps. The reason is b/c if you select too many at a time, GroupWise will probably stop responding (freeze up).
Now all the sent emails between those dates will be highlighted as pictured above.
4. Go to Edit > Delete and Empty.
Click YES on the confirmation window.
5. Select My Mailbox and click OK.
That's it! You've deleted those items from your Sent Items folder.
