Good morning!

I trust you set your GroupWise HTML settings and signature last week so let's move into this week's lesson, Creating a Webpage Shortcut on your Desktop. (If you can't see the graphics below, then you didn't do last week's lesson. It's archived at  http://www.mansfieldisd.org/curriculum/instructional-technology/ITSieBitArchivePage/ITSieBit.htm .)

Lesson: Creating a Webpage Shortcut on your Desktop

There are different ways to 'remember' that very important web page. You can add it in Favorites, add it to your Links Toolbar, or you can create a shortcut to it on your desktop. The follow steps explain the latter.

1. Go to that important Webpage. [For example, go to  www.escregion10.net (student attendance)]
2. Move your Internet Explorer window so you can see an area of your desktop.
3. Click and drag the "e" icon that's in front of the URL address to your desktop and let go. See graphics below...

Click and drag the "e" icon to your desktop...

Now there's a shortcut on the desktop...

4. You can rename the Webpage shortcut by RIGHT clicking (one click) on the shortcut & selecting RENAME.

5. Type what you want the Webpage to be. When finished typing, click out of the typing area -or- click your Enter key.

The next time you need to go to that Webpage, just double click your shortcut that's on your desktop.

That's it! See ya next time!
