EVERY GroupWise user needs to configure emails to html (#1 below) and create a signature (#2 below).

Good morning!
Welcome to ITSie BITs.   (ITS = Instructional Technology Specialist. That's us.)
We're going to send you little bits of technology information each week. Think of it as little bits of training lessons.

This week's ITSie BIT...
#1 Configure emails to HTML
#2 Add your GroupWise signature

ITSie BIT #1: Configure emails to HTML

People sometime embed HTML graphics in emails. Rather than having to go to that email's menu bar & select HTML (like you just did for this email), set your GroupWise settings so it'll always be set to see graphics.

Do the following:

1. Go to Tools > Options on the main GroupWise window.
2. Double click Environment.
3. Select the VIEWS tab.
4. Set DEFAULT COMPOSE VIEW and DEFAULT READ VIEW to HTML...
5. Click OK.
That's it!

NOTE: This setting doesn't 'move' with you from computer to computer so if you use a different computer, you'll have to do these steps again on that computer. In other words, it's a GroupWise machine setting, not a GroupWise personal account setting.

ITSie BIT #2: Add your GroupWise Signature

Everyone needs a signature. Your signature will appear at the bottom of emails you send.

Do the following:

1. Click on the SIGNATURE tab.
If you accidentally clicked out of the Environment window, repeat steps 1 & 2 above.
2. Checkmark Signature.
3. IF you have GroupWise 7 on your machine, click the New button & name your signature. (Ex: My GroupWise signature) GW7 is picture below.
If you don't have GroupWise 7 skip this step.
4. Enter your signature information in the box.
5. Select "Automatically add" if you want your signature to automatically attach to all out going emails.
Select "Prompt before adding" if you want to be asked whether or not to add the signature on all out going emails.
5. Click OK & you're done!

That's your ITSie BIT for this week.

Enjoy!
