About the committee and celebration 100th Anniversary logo

The 2009 – 2010 school year marks the 100th year anniversary of the establishment of the Mansfield Independent School District. The MISD 100 th Year Celebration Committee was formed last August and includes members from the local community, current MISD employees, and former MISD faculty and students. The committee has been working with district administrators to develop a collection of educational activities and district and community events to honor and celebrate 100 years of excellence in education in Mansfield.

  • The Mansfield Independent School District was established on May 22, 1909 with the election of the first Board of Trustees.
  • From its humble beginnings, the Mansfield Independent School District has grown to encompass over 94 square miles in Tarrant and Johnson Counties and currently includes four high schools, a career tech academy, six middle schools, six intermediate schools, and 21 elementary schools.
