Survey of 19th Century Russian Literature (9-week)
Grades 9-12
Prerequisite: None
A survey in English of major 19th century Russian writers (including Chekhov, Dostoevsky, Lermontov, Pushkin, and Tolstoy) who wrote during a time unlike any other in mankind’s history. This course directly complements the Survey of Russian History course and is designed to enhance available Russian language course offerings, as well as enhance current English literature curriculum exposing students to other renowned American and British authors from the same period. Student will receive Independent Studies in English credit.

Survey of Russian History (9-week)
Grades 9-12
Prerequisite: None
A survey of Russian history from its origins to the present, divided into three chronological 3-week phases: 1. Pre-Imperial Russia/The Russian Empire, 2. Soviet Russia, and 3. Post-Communism Russia. This offering, intended to introduce students to events in Russian history that have influenced how our world looks today, directly complements the Survey of 19th Century Russian Literature course and is designed to enhance available Russian language course offerings. Student will receive local credit only for this course.
