Gary "Doc" Welborn Health Science & Biomedical Academy BBCTA Office 817-299-1900 Conference Blocks 1 & 5 Health Science Technology I A course designed to develop health care specific knowledge and skills in effective communications, ethical and legal responsibilities, client care, safety, first aid, and AHA CPR. This course prepares the student for the transition to clinical or work based experiences in health care. Pharmacology/Pharmacy Technician This course will introduce the general principles of pharmacology with a focus on preparing the student for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. The course content will provide an overview of prescription/nonprescription medications with emphasis on drug classifications, drug action, drug administration, safety, ethical and legal issues. Students will develop an understanding of pharmaceutics and its impact on the health care industry. Career options in the pharmacy will also be explored.
