Tiger News Click this link for our Meet Schedule. December's calendar is here. Another New Swim Meet! Tuesday, December 15th at MISD Natatorium. All four High Schools will be competing against Arlington Bowie and Lewisville Flower Mound. We will be running two heats so that more swimmers get an opportunity to compete and earn a spot in the Lubbock Travel Meet comng up in January.
New Swim Meet! I have gained approval to add the Irving ISD Winter Invitational to our schedule. It will be held at the North Lake College Natatorium on Saturday, December 5th. The bus will leave from the MISD Natatorium at 8:00am, the meet starts at 11:00am. We should be home late in the afternoon. Not all swimmers will be attending this meet. Its mainly for swimmers who haven't had a lot of opportunities to race in our dual meets. I think its important that everyone get a chance to compete on a regular basis, and this meet should afford an additional opportunity for us to show how much we are improving.
Holiday Meet @ Home vs. Tyler-Lee on Tuesday November 24th
MISD Non-TISCA Invitational We had a great showing Friday night. A lot of swimmers got a chance to show what they could do in a meet. I was very pleased with our progress. Top to bottom, I believe this is the best group of swimmers I've ever had the privilege of coaching. We are making remarkable progress in the water, but even more, we are making the grade in the classroom and showing extra-ordinary character in our our lives. Hebron Dual Meet Tuesday night was a close call for the lady tiger swimmers as Lewisville Hebron came to town. The ladies won 100-86 and recorded eighteen best times. The Men's team fell short, losing 66-120. On a positive note, Freshman Diver, R. Tipton, set the school record with a score of 253.5 and the men recorded twenty three best times. Coppell Dual Meet What a great atmosphere last night. It was loud, it was crowded and it was exciting from start to finish. There is just nothing like two good teams going head to head in a six lane pool. Our Men's team won 96-82. Our Ladies ran away with a score of 115-68. Our team's depth is really beginning to show this year. We recorded 39 season best times! Be prepared! We are entering the toughest two months of our season. Make sure we are maintaining a nutricious diet, staying hydrated, and using good time management to keep our grades where they need to be. Without the classroom, there is no pool. Grapevine Dual Meet Both teams defeated Grapevine High School by 50 points last night. The Ladies won 118 - 68, while the men's score was 116 - 66. Between the two teams, we recorded 29 best times. Enjoy the next week off from swim meets. We will travel to the Coppell YMCA on Tuesday November 3rd. Arlington Invitational Our teams finished 2nd and 3rd at this weekend's Invitational. Melanie M. set a new school record in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:05.84 It was great to see some of you race for the first time this season! I thought we looked great. Keep up the good work in the pool and classroom. Remember, progress reports come out after this week. Marcus Dual Meet Congratulations to both our Men's and Lady's teams this past Tuesday night. We opened our dual meet season with two victories. The Men defeated Lewisville Marcus 126-100, with Ryan T. setting a new school record in diving. Our Ladies won the meet in the last event 96-90. Senior team captain, Melanie M, set a new school record in the 200 IM. Freshman, Meagan T, set a new record in the 50 Freestyle. Way To Go!!! Dragon Hunt Invitational We had a great opening to our season this past Saturday at The Dragon Hunt Invitational. The Ladies placed 4th out of 16 teams with 318 points. The Men placed 5th with 190 points. Melanie M. placed First in the 200 Backstroke and the 200 Freestyle. Her 200 Free time of 1:53.52 set a school record.
