News POINSETTIA SALES Packets are due back to Coach Wilson by Friday 11/21. TOURNAMENT NEWS 11/10- The boys golf team closed out the fall season with a sweep at ShootOut. MHS placed 1st and 2nd in the varsity division and 1st inthe JV division at Walnut Creek Country Club. C. Grimm tied for 3rd and C. Leasor tied for 5th on the Oak Course. 11/3- The Tiger Varsity Team closed out the Fall season with a 3rd place finish at the Highland Park Invitational. The Tigers finished in the top 5 at each of the 4 fall events in which the team entered. Playing in a collegiate format, junior G. Yates outdueled the #5 ranked junior in the nation and won individual medalist honors. Yates fired 5-under, 67, in the second round to capture the title. Other members of the team were K. Crawford (151), M. McLeroy (153), T. Williams (164) and Z. Collier (165). 10/30- The JV-1 team battled Southlake Carroll for the coveted Jack-O-Lantern given out to the team champion at the "Spooktacular" held at Lewisville's Lake Park Golf Course. MHS finished 1 stoke back as Soph. T. Williams continued his quest for individual medals, placing 2nd with +1 (73). C. Grimm finished 3rd with 74. Other memberso of the team were R. Pawlowski, B. Ellis and P. Harman. 10/25- The Tiger varsity linksters literally roared back on day 2 of the A&M Tiger Classic in College Station. MHS placed 2nd with a total score of 599. Sophomore K. Crawford finished 3rd overall, with junior G. Yates close behind in 4th and senior M. McLeroy earned his first top 10 finish of the year. Z. Collier and C. Leasor contributed in the solid team effort. 10/20- The JV and Freshman/Sophmore teams swept the medals at the "Ben and Byron Open" held at Glen Garden CC. Soph. A. Ariens was the low medalist in the JV division firing a 2-over par 73. Sophomore Z. Lawless posted 1-over 72 to win the Fresh/Soph. division. H. Woody finished runner-up in the JV division. 10/18- The Tiger Varsity squad finished 4th at the Tiger Invitational in Texarkana. In what Coach Wilson called the best high school tournament his teams have participated in, MHS fired 308-308-616 in talent laden field. Z. Collier and K.Crawford were the only Tigers to place in the top 20, tying for 16th. 10/14- Sophomore T. Williams fired a 1-over par to lead the Tiger JV-1 team to a 13 shot victory at the Yellowjacket Open at Pecan Valley GC. Williams won his 2nd consecutive individual medalist honor. K. Middleton and C. Grimm had top 5 finishes. A. Ariens and B. Ellis also played for the Tigers champion team. 10/14- The JV-2 team tied for 7th at the Leagacy March of Dimes at Tierra Verde. P. Harman was the lone tiger to break 80. 10/10- The Freshman/Sophomore team blistered the field at Ennis Country Club enroute to a victory at the Fall Slapista. T. Williams placed 1st overall with 74, while newcomer T. Gilliam placed 2nd with 78. N. Simmons, Z. Lawless and A. Carver helped the Tiger JV squad dominate the field. 9/29- R. Pawlowski shot an even par 72 to lead a trio of Tiger JV'ers at the top of the leaderboard and a team victory at the Indian Invitational in Waxahachie. The team shot 296, which is a record score for Mansfield High JV golf. P. Harman-74 2nd place, J. Gillespie and H. Woody- 75's and 3rd place and M. McGough- 78. The JV returns to action on 10/10 in Ennis. 9/24- C. Grimm shot 74 to lead the JV Tigers to a 1st place finish at the Hebron JV Invitational. A. Ariens shot 80 to finish 2nd and K. Middleton tied for 3rd overall. 9/20-
Tigers opened season with a solid 4th place finish at prestigious
Bart Granger Invitational. G. Yates lead the varisty team, placing
4th individually. K. Crawford earned a top 20 finish, while
C. Leasor had the team low round of 4-under
68 on the Hills Course.
