Fall 2010 Summary

Congrats to Kelly Sardella for being the 2010 Fall Bronco Cup Challenge Winner. She bested Kellie Martin in a 10 hole slug fest at Southern Oaks, just prior to the Christmas break. See the complete Bracket here.

Varsity Tournaments -

~ North Texas Fall Two Step ~ Nov.12th & 13th~ 3rd Place ~

The Varsity Squad played their final round of the fall on November 12th and 13th at Tangle Ridge G.C. in and Southern Oaks C.C. The 36-hole tournament was held over a two day period with what can only be described as perfect golf weater, well almost, The first day was almost cut short, but what can only be described as a torrential down pour. The second day was much drier, but with the dry weather came cooler temps.

The Lady Broncos finished day 1 with a 354 and in 3rd behind Midlothian (337) and Hebron (352). Day 2 again left the Broncos in 3rd with a 709 total score. Kellie Sardella and Kellie Martin lead the team with combined total of 165. Kendall McGahey and Ashlan Wiley finished with a 190 and 193, respectively. Amber Campbell finaly was able to fight her way onto the the varsity squad and finished with a two day total of 203. Sardella's 165 was good enough to capter the 4th Place medalist position after a scorecard playoff.

~ North Texas Fall Interscholastic ~ Oct.29th & 30th~

~ 1st Place ~ Consolation Division (14th Overall) ~

The Varsity Squad played over the weekend at the Brickyard in Ferris, TX. The 36-hole tournament was held over a two day period with what can only be described as perfect golf weater, that is after the sun finally came out about 10 or so. The lady broncos finished with a team score of 694.

Two Lady Broncos posted personal best tournament rounds, Kellie Martin with a 78 and Ashlan Wiley with an 84. Martin finished with a two day total of 163 and Wiley fired 177. Other scores included Kelly Sardella with a 174 and Raegan Lee with a 186. Kendall McGahey played only the 2nd day and shot a 91. McGahey missed Friday's round due to the flu.

~ Lady Pirate 2010 Fall Classic ~ Oct.8th & 9th~ 5th Place ~

Congratulations to the Varsity Squad for the 5th Place finish over the weekend at Harbor Lakes Country Club in sunny Granbury, TX. The 36-hole tournament was held over a two day period with what can only be described as perfect golf weater. The lady broncos finished with a team score of 690.

Kellie Martin lead the team with a two day total of 163 and Kelly Sardella followed with a 172. Ashlan Wiley shot a 179, while Kendall McGahey and Raegan Lee shot 181 and 182, respectively.

~ Denton HS Bronco Fall Classic ~ Sept. 28th ~ 1st Place ~

Congratulations to the Varsity Squad for the 1st Place finish yesterday at the Bridges Country Club, in Gunter, TX. In the first test of the season, the lady broncos tackled the 27 hole challenge with a 1st place finish and a team best 332. Scores were tallied by taking the best 2 nine hole scores for the round.

Kellie Martin led the broncos with a score of 80, strong enough to earn her the #3 Medalist position for the tournament. Kelly Sardella shot an 83 and Kendall McGahey shot an 84 to earn the 4th and 5th place medalist spots respectively. Raegan Lee finished 1 shot back with an 85 and Ashlan Wiley shot a 93. Great job ladies!!!

Junior Varsity Tournaments -

~ Byron Nelson H.S. Invitational ~ Nov. 8th ~

The Junior Varsity Team was in action on Monday the 8th of November at Trophy Club Country Club, playing the Hogan Course in a full field of competition. Unfortunately, LHS had only 3 scores to post and was unable to post a team score. However the highlight of the tournament for Legacy was Raegan Lee's fifth place finish as an individual with a final round score of 94.

~ Halloween JV Invitational ~ Oct.26th ~ 1st Place ~

Congratulations to the Junior Varsity Team who were in action on Tuesday the 26th at Indian Creek Country Club in Carrollton, TX. The team finished in 1st Place on a course that played a challenging 5100 yards and made the girls work for every shot. Amber Campbell finished 3rd with a 102, 4 shots back of the low round for the tournament of 98. Stephanie Hernandez was nipping on her heals with a 105. While Kristen Tegze fired a 122 and Marilyn Carey shot 119.

~ Panther Golf Tournament ~ Oct.18th ~

The Junior Varsity Team was in action on Monday the 18th at Hidden Creek Country Club in Burleson, TX. Unfortunately, LHS had only 3 scores to post and was unable to post a team score. After the conclusion of the 6 hour round, A. Campbell lead the way with a 100, M. Carey finished with a personal best 107, and K. Tegze fired a 116.

~ Chick-Fil-A ~ Sept. 22nd ~ 2nd Place ~

Congratulations to the JV Squad for the 2nd Place finish in this years Chick-Fil-A Challenge held yesterday at Mansfield National. Stephanie Hernandez led the way with a score of 81, strong enough to earn her the #1 Medalist position for the tournament. Amber Campbell shot a 91 to give Legacy 2 top 10 finishers, finishing in 7th Place. Kristen Tegze shot a 104 and Marilyn Carey shot a 109 for a team total of 385. Great job ladies.
