April 2011 -

The 2nd Annual Louise Cabaniss Elementary Math Night was held on April 8, 2011. Students, teachers, parents and other community members took part in fun math-themed games and activities.

March 2011 -

The MISD Education Foundation presented our school with the following grants:

  • $2,223.08 to fund "Activity Payday," submitted by Leeann Wenkman
  • $1,709.70 to fund "Flip Clips," submitted by Leeann Wenkman
  • $1,465.63 to fund "Co-opetition Recess: Talk, Rock or Walk," submitted by Leeann Wenkman
  • $1,195.00 to fund "Movin' & Groovin': Note'worthy Learning," submitted by Erin Howard

Additionally, two district-wide elementary grant programs were announced:

  • $4,299.00 to fund "Boom, Pow, Poof: Future Engineers Creating Chain Reactions," submitted by Andrea Bond, Charlotte Coker, Yvette Jones and Amy Senato
  • $2,799.64 to fund "Ooey, Gooey Squishy Fun," submitted by Amy Senato

March 2011 -

Cabaniss Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to 4th Grade Teacher Koree Mangum!

February 2011 -

The 4th grade students received a wonderful suprise visit from Rowdy, the Dallas Cowboys mascot on February 28! Rowdy gave a special presentation to the students to help them prepare and focus for their upcoming TAKS test!

December 2010 -

Cabaniss Elementary students perfected their Elf skills during PE class before the break. Through funds provided by the MISD Education Foundation, the campus created a “North Pole” in the gym. Students and families were invited to master physical activities at stations and become honorary Elves. The librarian had a holiday story and crafts during this special event for school families.
