MANSFIELD, TX – Mansfield ISD is ready to receive truancy tips from the community through a new area program that pays a $40 reward to citizens for information.
At the start of the 2011-12 school year, the Arlington Police Department along with the neighboring Arlington ISD launched an incentive program to help stop truancy.
As of Monday, September 12, 2011, the Mansfield ISD is also included in this program called You Earn, They Learn. Stop Truancy.
Anyone who notifies Crime Stoppers about a truant student could earn a $40 reward. Crime Stoppers works directly with police officers to provide the notification to investigate. An officer must verify that the student is truant before rewards are tendered. All tipsters remain anonymous.
Anyone who spots a youngster in public during school hours, is encouraged to report it through Crime Stoppers for the chance at receiving a reward:
