[October 24, 2011] Updated October 27.
The Mansfield ISD and Mansfield Timberview High School family is mourning the loss of two juniors, Kim Pimentel and Carlos Marquez.
Carlos Marquez died over the weekend and Kim Pimentel passed away at an area hospital due to injuries sustained in a car accident on Texas 360 in Grand Prairie.
In addition to Pimentel and Marquez, two classmates were also involved in the car accident.
To support the students and staff, Timberview High School had additional grief counselors available on Monday and Tuesday in the campus Library and Performing Arts Center. Additionally, the campus will keep counselors on-call for the remainder of the week.
Both Kim Pimentel and Carlos Marquez have family members and close friends at Timberview and in the Mansfield ISD community.
We wish to respect the privacy of the Pimentel and Marquez family during this sad time. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers.
Our priority is with the Timberview student body and staff during this time as they process the news of the car accident in addition to the continued grieving for a young coach who passed away last week.
