Lake Ridge High School will open next fall 2012. Accordingly, the school board has approved new high school attendance zones.
There were three school transfer options available to students:
- Any student, no matter your zone of residence, may apply to attend Lake Ridge High School via the LAKE RIDGE OPTION APPLICATION.
- A student who has been rezoned to Lake Ridge High for 2012-13 and will be a Junior or Senior next year, may apply to remain at their current school using the JUNIOR/SENIOR OPTION APPLICATION.
- A sibling, who will be in high school next year and has a sibling who is taking advantage of the Junior/Senior Option, may apply to attend the same high school using the SIBLING OPTION APPLICATION.
The transfer application deadline was Monday, January 23, 2012.

Impact of Lake Ridge Transfer Options on Cheerleader/Drill Team and Tryouts
MISD is holding cheerleading tryouts Friday, March 23 and 24, and Drill Team Tryouts April 14, 2012. Students will only be allowed to tryout for the team/squad of their residence school zone. Any current 8th-11th grade student that wants to utilize the Lake Ridge Transfer Option and plans to try out for either the Lake Ridge Cheerleading squad or Lake Ridge Drill team must submit a completed Lake Ridge Transfer Option application to the Student Services offices no later than Monday, January 23, 2012.
Once a student’s Lake Ridge, Junior/Senior, or Sibling transfer is approved, the student’s residence school is established for the 2012-2013 school year.

Impact of Lake Ridge Transfer Options on Student Athletes
Parents and student athletes who are interested in applying for a transfer using the Lake Ridge Option, Junior/Senior, and/or sibling transfer options must submit their completed application(s) to the MISD Student Services office by January 23, 2012 in order to be eligible for varsity competition during the 2012-2013 school year.
Once a student’s Lake Ridge, Junior/Senior, or Sibling transfer is approved, the student’s residence school is established for the 2012-2013 school year.
