Gideon Third Grade Teacher Receives Year's Final Heartbeat Team Award
[May 26, 2011]
For Gideon Elementary third grade teacher, Jeanne Clayton, teaching is a calling. This is no doubt the underlying reason for her actions that make her the Mansfield ISD May Heartbeat Award winner.
On Thursday, May 19, Dr. Morrison presented Jeanne Clayton with the final Heartbeat Award for the 2010-11 school year. Gideon Elementary principal, Imelda Little and other campus staff took their turns in congratulating the third grade teacher with the huge heart.
Among the glowing reasons for her nominations for this staff recognition award is the simple fact that Clayton goes above and beyond her classroom duties taking special care of students who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
“She is very committed to the students, staff and to our campus,” said Imelda Little, Gideon Elementary Principal, when asked about Clayton. “She is the kind of person that gives her whole heart to her students, to the school and to our staff. I couldn't think of a more deserving person to receive this award.”
“Teaching is more than just the TEKS,” said Jeanne Clayton. “Because there's nothing written about going the extra mile; it's what's in your heart.”
The MISD Administration is proud to present the May 2011 Heartbeat Team Award to Jeanne Clayton.
