The theme for this year’s Reflections Contest brought forth some especially inspiring works of art. Entry titles such as, “Save the Earth,” “Build a Winning Team,” and “Anything is Possible,” exemplify the positive vision Mansfield ISD students have for the future.

Entries were submitted in six different categories: Visual Arts, Literature, Musical Composition, Photography, Dance Choreography and Film Production. Local PTA Council Boards organized, collected and judged 176 entries. Prior to that, the entries were judged by campus PTAs.

After much deliberation, the panel selected 18 entries to forward to the Texas PTA for the next round of judging. The Texas PTA will advance a total of 24 entries to the National level. State results will be posted on the Texas PTA website in March.

The judges’ comments illustrate the level of talent and creativity among this year’s entries:

“Can’t wait to see what the students will do in the future.”

“Creative and original in conception of the theme. Student demonstrates a high level of writing skill.”

“The theme was beautifully and artistically demonstrated.”

“This piece will absolutely make you ‘Slow Down’ and think. Very original theme and very current to the times we live in.”

---

Hats off to the students who took time to participate and to the parents and teachers that supported their efforts! Also, a big thank you to all the local PTA Boards that assisted with judging.
