 The Mansfield ISD community has a unique opportunity to get their hands on some of the technology upgrades being added to classrooms this year.
Mansfield ISD and Promethean, a global leader of interactive classroom technology, invite the district community to experience a 21st century learning environment aboard the ActivClassroom in Motion, a 36-foot RV-styled bus that has been transformed into an interactive classroom on wheels.
“The ActivClassroom Bus is a great opportunity for teachers, administrators, students, and community members to learn about the power of the teaching tools that will be installed throughout MISD over the next twelve to eighteen months,” said Dr. Doug Brubaker, Assistant Superintendent, Technology and Information Services.
Dr. Brubaker continued, “In addition to mounted projection systems and document cameras, elementary classrooms are being equipped with Promethean ActivBoards, and secondary (5-12) classrooms are being equipped with ActivSlate60s. The first phase of the Extreme Makeover: High Tech Edition project involved 13 elementary schools and its final weeks of deployment. Phase II installations will begin in September 2010.”

- When: Press availability on Tuesday, August 24 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Wednesday, August 25 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Who: Mike Bauer, former teacher and current Teacher Learning Consultants at Promethean will lead hands-on demonstrations and share effective teaching strategies for using digital content and interactive classroom tools to transform classrooms.
School can be a hard time for any child when it comes to staying focused on classes and working to get good grades, especially for today’s digital natives. Mansfield ISD school officials are pleased to partner with Promethean on the implementation of the district’s education technology initiative. |
