Updated Wednesday, April 27 - Following the events related to the power outage at Mansfield High School on Monday, April 25, Mansfield ISD is currently reviewing related policies and procedures. The District regrets any confusion or concern that was caused from the situation. We have received several questions about students who left the campus and were counted absent. Those students will be counted absent, but MISD will consider their absence excused and it will not affect test exemptions, etc.

Updated 10:30 AM - Student absences at Mansfield High School today, April 25, will not count against a student's total absences or exemption status.
---
Updated 9:32 AM - Power has been restored at Mansfield High School and the campus will begin the instructional day at 10:00 AM. All students are to return or report to school.
If a student is unable to return to school, a parent or guardian will need to contact the school excusing the student's absence.
---
9:23 AM - The power was out this morning at Mansfield HS due to overnight weather. We had heard earlier that Oncor had identified the problem and that they anticipated a morning power restoration.
Mansfield High School students were to convene at the football field and track area. Many students left on their own or signed out with the campus administrators if they had vehicles.
Bathrooms are available and lunch plans are being addressed by Student Nutrition. Additionally, the MHS special needs students have been taken inside the building. If inclement weather develops, students outside the campus will be brought inside.
Updates will be made as new information becomes available. |
