Miriam Singarella, the principal's secretary at Cora Spencer Elementary School, received the November 2009 MISD Heartbeat Team Award during a surprise ceremony in the school's front office. Miriam Singarella was chosen for displaying a remarkable amount of personal interest in student success and providing dedicated service.
District Superintendent Dr. Bob Morrison, along with Spencer principal Dr. Tammy Rountree, surprised Miriam with a presentation held inside the school's office on Friday, November 13, 2009.
“She is here for everything,” said Spencer principal, Dr. Tammy Rountree. “Miriam comes in before school, after school and weekends. She always does things that have nothing to do with her job description for these kids. She could easily be confused as a full-time volunteer here. She's very giving and supportive of what we do here at Spencer.”
When asked what it means to receive the Heartbeat Award, Singarella replied, “It's special and means alot that my coworkers felt that I deserved to have it and nominated me even if I hadn't won it, just that they nominated me is special.”
The Mansfield ISD administration is proud to present the November 2009 Heartbeat Team Award to Miriam Singarella for her caring heart and willingness to play an important role in the success of students at Cora Spencer Elementary School.
