Rennye Fehse, a Special Education paraprofessional from Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary, received the latest Mansfield ISD Heartbeat Team Award during a surprise presentation at the school. Rennye was selected for her great concern and efforts for her students through a challenging time.
District Superintendent Dr. Bob Morrison, along with Sheppard Elementary principal Gary Manns, surprised Rennye with a short interruption this morning. Rennye Fehse is a Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) Paraprofessional. PPCD at Sheppard Elementary is a Special Education speech program for Pre-K students.
According to the principal, last school year the teacher was out for an extended period of time. Mrs. Fehse took over the classroom. She helped with the IEPs (Individual Education Plan) for the students assisting another Special Education teacher in developing the goals. She also helped plan the lessons for the class.
“I definitely think that she deserves this award,” said Gary Manns. “She always has a smile on her face and is a hard worker.”
Heartbeat Team nominations expressed similar accolades for Fehse related to last year's situation and her dedication to her students:
“Her great concerns were for the kids to keep learning and to run a smooth ship,” wrote Dolores Maiure.
“She truly loves each of these children and she never gave up on their behavior problems,” wrote Tiffany Stewart. “[She] pushed each child further than we thought they could go.”
“She does a tremendous job of assisting with teaching using play, arts and crafts and fun,” wrote Sarena Carrean.
The Mansfield ISD administration is proud to present the February 2010 Heartbeat Team Award to Rennye Fehse for her caring heart and willingness to play an important role in student success at Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary.
