[September 17, 2007] Mansfield ISD Launches District Blog |
The Mansfield ISD Department of Communications has a new blog called Your Mansfield ISD.
Moderated by the Director of Communications, Mr. Terry Morawski, Your Mansfield ISD was launched to offer the district community a resource for open, honest opinions and commentary related to the hottest topics and news facing MISD.
"If your home is located within our district boundaries, our schools are your schools, " states a post by Mr. Morawski. "And let's face it - a school district is a large organization with lots of moving parts. It can be intimidating, when you really think about all of the local policy, state and national legislation, etc., that go into our final programs. Our goal with this blog is to simplify many of these complexities and also key you in on many of the great things that are going on."
User feedback is welcomed through the commenting feature enabled within the blog. From Your Mansfield ISD: "All posting of comments on this blog are at the discretion of the editors. The intent of this policy is not to keep any negative or critical information from being posted, but to protect the privacy and rights of Mansfield ISD staff and students. We welcome all comments and look forward to what you have to say."
The first entry dates back to April 10, but the site did not officially launch until this fall. "We wanted to work out a few things before we went live with this blog," says Richie Escovedo, district Webmaster. "Our reasons for blogging and blogging policy were needed first. Summer came and we chose not to try to launch this new initiative when our community was paying more attention to summer vacations than blog entries."
